The COP has launched the AP-MDG-Social Knowlege Product series. The first AP-MDG-Social Knowledge Product consolidating the ideas, learning and resource references that emerged from the AP-MDG-Social e-discussion on the feminization of poverty in autumn 2008 has been produced. The document can be accessed in the archive of "summary of e-discussions" (see box below) or accessed below. The document was distributed at the 53rd Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (2-13 March 2009, New York) for contribution to the substantive discussions. The UN Commission on the Status of Woman is the principal global policy-making body on the issue of gender equality and the advancement of women and assembles representatives of all UN member states in an annual plenary meeting to evaluate progress on gender equality, set global standards and formulate concrete policies to promote gender equality and the advancement of women worldwide.
